Week 10 kicks off with a Thursday Night Football showdown between the Ravens and Dolphins. The Ravens are road favorites, laying 7.5 points at several Las Vegas sportsbooks, and the total opened as high as 48.0. This has the makings of another dominant Baltimore performance, and it’s why we’re going to break our DFS budget to include the Ravens’ key contributors, including Lamar Jackson as our “Captain.: We’ve called on Ravens’ playmakers often this year, so we’re happy to play them in this week’s DraftKings Showdown tournament lineup.

Here’s a reminder of the key settings for DraftKings single-game contests: It’s full-point PPR, and there are three-point bonuses for 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards, and 100 receiving yards. The Captain pick costs 1.5 times a player’s original price, but he also gets his point total multiplied by 1.5.

DraftKings Showdown Picks: Ravens vs. Dolphins

$50,000 budget, need at least one player from each team.

Captain: (1.5x salary, 1.5x points) QB Lamar Jackson, Ravens ($20,700)

Lineup differentiation is a key element in achieving DFS success, and even though Jackson will likely be the most heavily owned piece of this matchup, his exorbitant price tag may keep him out of the “Captain” spot for much of the field. He’s sandwiched a couple of merely average (for him) performances between 35.6 and 45.9-DraftKing-point outbursts, and we certainly don’t want to miss out on another eruption.

FLEX: WR Marquise Brown, Ravens ($11,000)

Brown has been a dominant force this season, owning 25.7 percent of the team’s target share. He’s received 10 or more looks in three of the past four contests and has earned DK’s three-point bonus in two of those. The Dolphins — or at least head coach Brian Flores — will be well-aware of the damage Brown can inflict on a secondary. He exploded for 33.7 DK points in Miami in his NFL debut in 2019, and he’ll be in a position to hang another gaudy number on the Dolphins Thursday night.

WEEK 10 DFS: Best stacks | Best values | Lineup Builder

FLEX: TE Mark Andrews, Ravens ($8,800)

We know Andrews is capable of a monster score, something he emphasized during his 44.7-DK-point performance in Week 5. We won’t bet the house on that big of an explosion this Thursday, but he owns a 22.7-percent target share which is complemented by a healthy 13.3 yards/catch average. The Dolphins haven’t defended tight ends well, and they won’t have the luxury of dedicating extra resources to containing Andrews thanks to the presence of Brown and Jackson.

WEEK 10 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

FLEX: TE Mike Gesicki, Dolphins ($7,400)

We’ll call this our “12-personnel” build. Gesicki is second on the Dolphins in targets (63) but leads the team in receiving yards (529) thanks to averaging 12.0 yards per catch. For context, target-leader Jaylen Waddle averages 8.9 yards per grab. While we’d prefer Tua Tagovailoa (finger) under center, Gesicki has been targeted 33 times in the four games Jacoby Brissett has started, so we expect him to be busy either way.

WEEK 10 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

FLEX: RB Salvon Ahmed, Dolphins ($800)

While Myles Gaskin has taken the lead in the Dolphins’ backfield, it doesn’t feel like his grip is particularly firm. Ahmed is third on the team in touches and owns an identical 4.1 yards per touch as Gaskin. He’s been productive when presented with enough opportunity, evidenced by 10.8, 15.0, and 20.7 DK performances in 2020. If he can catch the proverbial “hot hand,” an uptick in usage could be within reach this week.

WEEK 10 DFS LINEUPS: FanDuel | DraftKings | Yahoo

FLEX: WR Preston Williams, Dolphins ($200)

Be sure to check on the latest regarding Williams’ status for Thursday night. He’s expected to be “available” after being a healthy scratch the past two weeks. Williams’ most recent respectable performance was Week 5 when he scored 9.7 DK points on five targets and one rush attempt. He has 10 double-digit DK performances in his career, and he has enough ability to make a contribution to our final score on Thursday. We’re not expecting anything memorable from Williams, but we need to think outside of the box if we’re going to stuff the top of our lineup as we have.

WEEK 10 FANTASY: Sleepers | Busts | Start ’em, sit ’em

Alternate consideration: If Preston Williams feels like too much of a risk, DFS playerers can opt for Ty’Son Williams’ ($1,200) risk-reward profile. Ty’Son didn’t handle touch in Week 9, but he was at least on the field for 18 snaps. His 5.4 DK points in Week 7 represented his best output since Week 2.
