About Us
The Latin American Startup Blog is a project of M. Christopher (“Chris”) Johnson, principal at Bedouin Ventures, LLC. A strategy consultant based in Mexico City, Chris has extensive experience working in emerging markets. He has also managed development of several innovative software packages, including Microstock Watcher (a program to help photographers monitor their stock photography earnings), BabelPix (software that translated IPTC codes to foreign languages), and most recently the iPad Magazine Creator, which was used to create Parallax Magazine, an iPad-only photography magazine. Chris speaks Spanish and has a deep understanding of Latin America and working in Emerging and Frontier Markets. He hopes that this blog will introduce the vibrant Latin American startup culture to a wider, English-speaking audience, and encourage Angels, VCs and Private Equity firms to consider Latin American startups for their portfolios.
